Alejandra Boni, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s deputy director, will give a lecture about: "Navigating uncertainty with epistemic justice – reflections for higher education institutions". This event, hosted by the Institute of Development Studies, will be next Thursday, at 18:00 pm (CEST).


Carolina Cañibano, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s researcher, will join the European Regional Meeting of the Global Research Council, which is hosted by the Spanish National Research Council between 21st and 22nd of October 2021 in Madrid.


Marta Maicas Pérez, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s PhD student is doing a Research visit at Gender Studies Department in Tampere University, in Finland. Yesterday she presented the theoretical chapter of her thesis project at the first hybrid Gender Studies seminar celebrated by the group. Johanna Kantola, Professor of Gender Studies at Tampere University, is hosting this research visit. 


Alejandra Boni, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s deputy director, will lead a public lecture on Transforming socio-technical systems through evaluation and present her latest work on the evaluation of transformative innovation policies to kickstart the Colloquium on Transformative Innovation Policy: Perspectives from South Africa, organized by the Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium (TIPC). The event will be via Zoom on Wednesday 13th at 16:00.


This Friday, Pablo Fernández Méndez, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s researcher, will participate as speaker in Climate-KIC's workshop: "Developing a Transformative Theory of Change". The event will be at 10:00.


The Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium (TIPC) is organizing the 2022 TIP Conference, which is going to be held digitally from 17-21 January 2022. The "Call for Participation and Initiatives" is now open from 18 June 2021 to 20 August 2021. If you want to apply, please send an Expression of Interest (EoI) that does not exceed 1000 words.


Pedro Marques, Dima Yankova and Ghinwa Moujaes, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s researchers, teamed up to openly discuss the uncertainties of managing a PHD process, especially in COVID times. They answered some questions about this topic for the POLISS (Policies for Smart Specialisation) project group. 

These researchers discussed the uncertainty about time, dissertation quality and the future of their research in this article. Read the point of view of two PhD students and one researcher with 10 years of postdoc experience.

Pedro Marques, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s researcher, has been interviewed by the ESNA European Higher Education News about the paper he wrote as a co-author of Joaquín Azagra Caro and Laura Salmerón, entitled: "Fiction lagging behind or non-fiction defending the indefensible? University-industry (et al.) interaction in science fiction". The researchers explore the relationship between science fiction literature and the perception in society of the research field. 


Pablo F. Méndez, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s researcher,  has published an article in Earth System Governance Journal about systemic risks in the Anthropocene and lessons learned from COVID-19. The article is entitled: "Blue uncertainty: Warding off systemic risks in the Anthropocene—Lessons from COVID-19".

In the article, Méndez talk about radical uncertainty, complexity-based approaches, transdisciplinary teams, and a "mental leap" to tackle COVID-19's Post-Normal wicked swan and global environmental systemic risks in the Anthropocene.


Itziar Castelló, Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at the Department of Digital Economy at Surrey Business School (UK), will give a seminar entitled "Moralizing Discourses of Artificial Intelligence Strategies" on Wednesday 24th of february, at 12:00 PM. The seminar will be online through the platform Zoom.

INGENIO, a research centre specialised in innovation studies, is seeking candidates interested in applying for postdoctoral fellowships. These fellowships are awarded by the Spanish government on a competitive basis, and are open to people at various stages of their postdoctoral careers. The three options available are:

INGENIO have held between Monday and Wednesday the first ever virtual edition of the INGENIO PhD Days; an event that aims to contribute to the development of research capabilities, presentation and communication skills, as well as to build networks among a new generation of researchers (PhD students as well as early career researchers). 40 early career researchers of different countries attended to the event.


This Monday, 14th of December, we celebrate the first virtual edition of INGENIO PhD Days. This event aims to contribute to the development of research capabilities, presentation and communication skills, as well as to build networks among a new generation of researchers (PhD students as well as early career researchers). For this edition, we have been working alongside with Teje Redes, experts on collaborative methodologies, in order to keep on the interactive spirit of the event and to make of this an active virtual conference! PhD Days will be held between 14th and 16th of December. 


The event is just few weeks away and we want to invite you to this first online version of the INGENIO PHD Days. Carmen Martínez Vargas, postdoctoral researcher of the University of Free State (South Africa) will hold a virtual seminar about decolonialism next Thursday, 12th of November at 12:00. This event, organized by INGENIO (CSIC-UPV), is part of the Semana de la Ciencia y la Tecnología 2020 organized by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).


Jordi Molas, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s director, will be a keynote speaker this afternoon in the opening day of the European Environmental Evaluators Network Forum 2020. His conference is entitled: "Evaluating Transformative Innovation Policies: implications and challenges". 

This year's edition of the EEEN 2020 Forum will focus on the development of environmental evaluation approaches, the role of evaluation in Agenda 2020 and 2030 or the risk assessment as a tool for advancing sustainability in environmental evaluation, among others.


Alejandra Boni, Deputy Director of INGENIO (CSIC-UPV), has been named fellow of the Human Development and Capability (HDCA).

The HDCA is a global community of academics and professionals whose main goal is to promote academic research in public policies in the area of human development and well-being. This association is composed by members of different fields: economics, philosophy, development studies, health, education, law, government and sociology, among others.


Due to the Covid19 situation, we will launch an online Early Career Conference on December 14-16th 2020.
