In recent years, the EU defined the basis to create innovation platforms to tackle down the Climate Change and boosting green innovation start-ups (GIS) for urban sociotechnical transition. The goals of these platforms are providing enterprising know-how, triggering innovation competence, highlighting potential innovation for angel investment, new technologies launching, and make adequate stimulation of integration of multi-firm complementarities through living labs (LLs). Innovation platforms act as agents of change with living labs as relevant innovation mechanisms for start-ups configurations; however, how far does the role of innovation platforms consider green capabilities building integration their start-up participants program? The promotion and congruous of green capabilities building among their participants warranty their continuity and the future market evolution with sustainable business models. How far do the integration of green capabilities inside the innovation platforms trigger the development of sustainable business models? The interest ?to bridge the gap? between GIS and the market lies in green capabilities building at early stages of a technology company during the living lab integration. Therefore, do the role of innovation platforms foster authentic complementarities and collaborations between GIS s through living labs? Moreover, there is no precedent to indicate how far these platforms are contributing to the development of green capabilities. The understanding of how green innovation start-ups defined, develop and share green capabilities determine continuous innovation technology and their market adoption.
