Alejandra Boni participate in "DPU lead participatory video workshop exploring the impact of evictions on wellbeing in Lagos"

DPU teamed up with Lagos-based NGO, JEI, to realise a participatory video workshop that aimed to explore the impact that the continued threat of forced eviction has on the wellbeing of residents.

1st FOSTERC Seminar 2017 | Fostering Competencies Development in Belarusian Higher Education

The aim of this seminar is to facilitate a dialogue between different actors involved in civil society and university engagement to reflect on benefits, enablers and challenges of these kind of relationships. Starting from a particular experience, the relation between the Master in Social Development Practice of The Bartlett Development Planning Unit (UCL) and Citizens UK, the seminar will bring reflections on how relevant and meaningful is civil society engagement for students, academics and participants of social organizations.

This book makes the case for a critical turn in development thinking around universities and their contributions in making a more equal post-2015 world. It puts forward a normative approach based on human development and the capability approach, one which can gain a hearing from policy, scholarship, and practitioners dealing with practical issues of understanding policy, democratising research and knowledge, and fostering student learning - all key university functions.


Un equipo de investigadores del Instituto Universitario de Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicaciones de la Universitat Politècnica de València (ITACA-UPV) ha desarrollado una nueva herramienta de análisis de imagen cuyo objeto es la mejora del pronóstico y la caracterización de tumores sólidos. Denominado MTS (Multiparametric Tissue Signature, Firma de Tejidos Multiparamétricos) su aplicación podría contribuir a aumentar la eficacia y reducir los costes de los ensayos clínicos para hacer frente a estas patologías y acelerar la identificación de nuevos compuestos terapéuticos.

As part of the ‘State of European University-Business Cooperation’ study we are inviting organisations involved with university-business cooperation (UBC)* including businesses, academics, universities, intermediaries and policy makers to suggest a good practice UBC case study about their strategies, practices, partnerships and achievements in developing UBC.


On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the journal “Evidence & Policy”,  Prof. Jordi Molas-Gallart and Dr. Africa Villanueva hosted an international meeting at INGENIO to discuss the future of the journal and this field of research.

The meeting took place over two days (26-27 October) and was attended by a select group of academics working on different aspects of the use of research results in policy and practice.


Mabel Sánchez Barrioluengo has received the "2015 Routledge RSA Award for Early Career Excellence in regional studies" given by the Regional Studies Association Award Committee. She will receive the prize during the Association’s President’s Dinner that takes place on the evening of the 19th November 2015 at the House of Lords, London, UK.

In an editorial of Nature called "Portfolio boost" (PDF version available here) and published on August 20th, 2015, they  recommand to read an article of Wallace and Rafols, "Research Portfolio Analysis in Science Policy: Moving from Financial Returns to Societal Benefits", saying:

Julia Olmos Peñuela received "PhD with distinction" award from Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, in the cateogory "Economy and Social Sciences", for her thesis "Science-Society Interactions in the Social Sciences and Humanities: Empirical Studies of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research" realized at INGENIO [CSIC-UPV]. The "PhD with distinction" (Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado) is a mention given to a person whose PhD work has been outstanding compared to other PhD students in the same academic year.
