Valencia is located in eastern Spain on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It is the third-largest city in Spain, with around 800,000 inhabitants, and a greater urban area of around 1.6 million people. València is connected to the main European cities by regular flights, and by train to Madrid (1h30) and Barcelona (2h40).
The Universitat Politècnica de València campus is located in the eastern part of the city, five kilometres from the city centre. Travelling to UPV takes 20-25 minutes by public transport (bus, tramway and metro) from most city locations. València is almost entirely flat and boasts a widespread network of cycling paths, making the bicycle a safe and convenient option for city and urban mobility.
