Philippe Laredo will present his work about university-industry collaboration, from the viewpoint of universities. In the first part of the presentation, he will present various collaboration modes, taking hold of lessons from Innovation studies. In the second part, he will explain, taking the example of the French University of Nantes, the four main configurations of university – industy collaborations.

About Philippe Larédo

Philippe Larédo is Directeur de Recherche at ENPC (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées) in LATTS (Laboratoire Territoires, Techniques, Sociétés) and Professor at the University of Manchester (Institute of Innovation Research, Manchester Business School). His research interests are on breakthrough innovation, on the dynamics of research collectives and on research and innovation policies. On the latter he has edited with Philippe Mustar, An international comparative analysis on Research and Innovation Policies (Edward Elgar, 2003 for the paperback edition). He presently co-ordinates the PRIME European Network of Excellence (2004-2008) standing for policies for research and innovation in the move towards the ERA.
