Focal areas
INGENIO operates within the field of Science, Technology, and Innovation Studies, an interdisciplinary domain that examines how social, political, and cultural values both drive and are transformed by scientific advancement. Our research explores the intricate dynamics between knowledge production and its broader impact on society and governance. Central to our mission is practical relevance, ensuring that collaboration with societal stakeholders remains a cornerstone of our methodology.
Our current research addresses the critical, yet often overlooked, intersections of innovation and social equity. As evidence mounts that the risks of progress are unevenly distributed, it becomes clear that progress without equity is inherently unsustainable, ultimately threatening the very foundations of innovation. INGENIO is dedicated to generating the empirical evidence required to shape inclusive, forward-thinking policy. To address this complex mission, our research is structured across five complementary Focal Areas (FA).
