Pedro és Investigador Científic (Científic Titular) en INGENIO, on desenrotlla la seua investigació sobre desenrotllament regional, innovació i governança a les regions perifèriques de la Unió Europea.

Formació
Pedro és llicenciat en Sociologia pel ISCTE de Lisboa (Portugal) i compta amb un màster i un doctorat per la Universitat de Newcastle (el Regne Unit). Així mateix, va cursar un any acadèmic en la Université Paris VII com a estudiant Erasmus i va ser estudiant de doctorat visitant en la Universitat de Cornell durant un semestre.
Experiència acadèmica
Pedro ha treballat com a investigador associat en la Universitat de Newcastle (el Regne Unit), la Universitat de Kiel (Alemanya), la Universitat de Cardiff (el Regne Unit) i la Universitat de Sussex (el Regne Unit). Ha fet treball de camp al Regne Unit, Portugal, Alemanya i Eslovènia en el marc de diferents projectes d'investigació, entrevistant una àmplia varietat d'actors dels sectors privat, públic i del tercer sector.
Com a resultat de la seua investigació, Pedro ha publicat en diverses revistes acadèmiques d'alt impacte i ha elaborat informes de política pública per a organitzacions de l'àmbit polític i del tercer sector al Regne Unit, Portugal i a nivell de la Unió Europea.
