Throughout September, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV) held a series of activities as part of the DEEP-MaX Excelencia CSIC project. These activities provided an opportunity to review the centre’s progress, discuss the next steps in its scientific strategy and encourage exchange among researchers.

One of the highlights of the month was the in-person visit of INGENIO’s Scientific Advisory Board. During the meeting, participants reviewed the main milestones achieved under the MaX programme and discussed the next steps. Coinciding with this visit, the coordinators of INGENIO’s five focal areas presented the work carried out so far. The meeting provided an opportunity to share progress across the different areas and outline the activities planned for the coming months.

Scientific strategy and research community

During September, INGENIO also held its Scientific Assembly, a meeting that brings together researchers to reflect on the centre’s progress and discuss new areas of action. Regarding the activities of individual focal areas, Focal Area 1 held a meeting with all its members to discuss how to continue working towards its scientific objectives.

These activities were complemented by a new edition of PhD in Progress, the annual event where INGENIO’s doctoral community shares its research and receives feedback from other members of the centre. This year, seven female doctoral researchers participated, representing different stages of their PhD projects, from the initial phases to the analysis and discussion of results.

In addition, INGENIO participated for the first time in the 11th Annual Meeting of CSIC Technical and Management Staff for Internationalisation, an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices with professionals from other research centres. The institute has also joined the UPV Innovation Network, an initiative aimed at promoting knowledge transfer and collaboration between the university’s research structures and the wider socioeconomic environment.

These activities are part of INGENIO’s ongoing work within the MaX-CSIC programme to continue implementing its scientific project and excellence plan.
