The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas CSIC has awarded the third edition of its Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Awards, which recognise high-impact initiatives led by research staff within the institution. Among the awarded projects is “Scientific transfer in emergency situations: the GADE-CSIC model in the Valencia DANA”, coordinated by researcher Inés Galindo, CSIC Emergency Coordinator.

This initiative involved a large multidisciplinary team of 28 researchers and technical staff from different CSIC centres, including IGME, CEBAS, IETCC, IEO, CENIM, ICMAN, IATA and IH, as well as support units such as the Communication Office and the CSIC’s own prevention and logistics service.

The participation of the INGENIO research institute was coordinated by Adela García Aracil, head of the GADE Social Risks Group, and also included collaboration from Rosa Isusi Fagoaga and Alejandra Osoro Fernández. Their contribution focused on the analysis of the social dimension of risk.

The main challenge addressed was the lack of integrated, evidence-based tools capable of supporting, in real time, the management of a complex and multidimensional disaster.

The award ceremony for the third Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Awards will take place on 20 May at the Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Alicante, where all awarded initiatives will be officially recognised.
