We are glad to announce that Pedro Marques, INGENIO (CSIC-UPV)'s researcher, will be one of the keynote speakers of the EUSPRI Early Career Researcher Conference 2022 - Rethinking innovation policy: Creating resilience in times of uncertainty! The conference will take place in Manchester on 09/10 May 2022.

This Early Career Conference (ECC) is an opportunity to discuss about challenges and opportunities of new STI policies to build back better after challenging times: challenge-oriented approaches, place-based and responsible innovation (among others). 

The one-and-a-half day conference will offer a varied program, including paper presentation sessions, keynote talks and social events for networking purposes. Early career researchers will present a full paper in a 15-minute presentation followed by discussions.

EU-SPRI (Forum)

The "European Forum for Studies of Policies for Research and Innovation" (Eu-SPRI Forum) aims to strengthen the vibrant but dispersed interdisciplinary community of researchers focusing on interdisciplinary dimensions related to policy and governance in the field of knowledge creation and innovation.
Studies of Policies for Research and Innovation (SPRI) is a growing research field since the 1960s, evolving at the encounter of economics, political science, sociology, Science and Technology Studies (STS), business administration, geography and history.

The Eu-SPRI Forum collaborates with non-European expert networks in the field of science, research, technology and innovation policy studies, such as the "Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Research Network of the Americas (STIPA)"

About Pedro Marques:

Pedro is a Ramon y Cajal fellow, a competitive 5-year programme funded by the Spanish Government. Under this programme he will continue to develop his research agenda on regional development, innovation and governance in peripheral regions of the European Union. He is also the principal investigator in a Innovative Training Network funded by the European Union (coordinated by Utrecht University) that will start in December 2019. He has been a visiting fellow at the Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies, Newcastle University, since 2012. He is an Associate Editor for the journal Regional Studies, Regional Science and has been a peer reviewer for several high-ranking journals.

Pedro´s research interests are in the following areas: innovation in less developed regions, innovation in low and medium tech sectors, the political economy of development, governance and politics, social innovation.
