Paula Otero-Hermida is a postdoctoral researcher at the Spanish National Research Council (Instituto INGENIO CSIC-UPV) in the Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación program of the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. Previously, she has been awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the Valencian regional government. She participates in different projects dedicated to responsible research and innovation and gender equality such as the SUPER_MoRRI project (2019-2023) funded by the European Commission.

She is a member of the working groups of the Spanish Observatory of Women, Science, and Innovation (Ministry of Science and Innovation). In collaboration with Elena Castro and Carolina Cañibano, they produced the first official report "Women and Innovation 2020" for this governmental entity.

Previously, she has been Area Director at the regional level at the Spanish Red Cross (2010-2016) developing social responsibility, equality, and employment programs and has developed advisory activities with citizens, non-profit organizations, and companies in Latin America and Spain.

She has taught in the Master of Corporate Social Responsibility of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2010-2019), in its editions in Spain, Colombia, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic in the areas of Equality and Diversity. She has also taught Public Values and Equality in the Master of the National Institute of Administration (2020) and in the Master in Industrial Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2020), collaborating in responsible innovation content.

Her research focuses on responsibility and equality in science and innovation policies. Her latest scientific publications can be found in the journals Local Government Studies and PloS ONE.
